Think of us as the opposite of a commercial venue that rushes from one booking to the next and tries to fill their calendar to maximize profit. Our goal at Château de Michellia is to treat each event like a private commission - intentional, luxurious, and artfully executed. We accepted less than a dozen private weddings / events every year, and never host back-to-back events in the same weekend. This ensures that each event is not one of many, but one of a kind.

Just minutes away from the Oregon State Capitol, Château de Michellia often hosts clients who travel here for a destination experience; a European escape without leaving the stateside. Old-world architecture, modern luxury, access to PNW’s finest wines, and effortless hospitality come together in one timeless setting. Full-weekend stays are available for those who want to turn their celebration into an unforgettable retreat.

What is the typical investment involved with Château de Michellia events?

While investment levels vary greatly based on the aesthetic vision, guest count, and scope of celebration, our clients typically allocate around $800 - $1,500 per guest towards their overall spending for a single-day event. Though this is not a fixed fee, most Château de Michellia private events naturally fall within this range, reflecting the caliber of artistry, expectation of service, and overall standard upheld by our clients.

What kind of private events would be a good fit for the Château?

Château de Michellia is best suited for upscale, design-driven events defined by elevated guest experiences and a sense of awe at every turn. I will host my ceremony/reception elsewhere, can I still take pre-wedding pictures at the Château?

Yes! You may schedule a private photoshoot with us.

Can we visit the Château?

Yes - however, we only allow property visits if we deem our space a good fit for your event. If your event application is accepted, one of our team members will reach out to you to arrange a visit. Please note that our property is gated and does not allow visitors without an appointment.

What kind of event planner do I need to hire?

We require a full-service professional event planning team for all events. Professional event planners typically have a minimum number of years of experience in the industry as a qualification, along with dedicated event planning business licenses and commercial insurance. While we acknowledge that you may have friends or family willing to assist, please note that they will not be classified as professional event planners for our consideration.

Is your property easy to access?

Our location is best described as hidden yet convenient. We are easily accessible by car from Interstate Highway 5, about 60 minutes away from Portland (60 miles) and 3.5 hours from Seattle (228 miles). We are also just a short 2-hour flight away from most major California cities.

We are minutes away from the Oregon State Capitol with many hotels and restaurants available nearby.

Are most of your clients local?

We are able to provide a streamlined experience to accommodate all local and non-local clients who are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. With both single-day and full-weekend offerings, we have had the pleasure of celebrating with clients from Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Orlando, Miami, Chicago, New York, Boston, and many other destinations.

Do you require us to work with any specific vendors?

We require you to hire both a full-service planning team as well as a full-service catering team. We do not require you to hire from a specific list; However, we do keep a list of preferred and trusted vendors who are familiar with our property and will make your planning process as stress-free as possible.
